Our curriculum is much more than just the subjects. We integrate a whole range of activities/lessons objectives, schemes of work, learning outcomes, moral values to fulfil our vision and realize the mission of the school.
‘Promoting moral, social and spiritual development through worship, education and recreation’
This starts from the very young at the pre-primary, primary and secondary levels. Within the primary section, we have focused on the curriculum on how we can train our youth to think positively, acting and living in a multiracial modern society.
Quite obviously, to educate young children, the National Curriculum has to be taken on board. In addition to the National Curriculum subjects which are: English, French, Arabic, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Economics, Commerce, Accounts, Mathematics, Art, Computing, Home Economics, Food Nutrition, Physical Education, the pupils at Doha Academy are taught Quran reading, Tafsir, Islamic studies (Aqeedah, Fiqh, Adaab, Seerah).
At the Primary level, the examination is organized by the Mauritius Examination Syndicate while the Secondary examinations are conducted by the University of Cambridge UK. After 5 years of schooling, students take part in the School Certificate examination (Ordinary Level). Those obtaining good grades are allowed to join the Higher School Certificate (Advanced Level) a two year programme.
